7th Feb 2010

Hello again

3 matches this week and all local derby’s. On Saturday Liverpool fought a hard 1-0 win over Everton whilst on Sunday Birmingham defeated Wolves 2-1 whilst Chelsea overcame Arsenal 2-0.

Manager of the Month

Our picture shows me presenting Robert Walpole the Manager of the Month for December 2009 with his Fulham for 50 Years. Unfortunately it was not enough to gain his side promotion to the Premiership but they’re up there again this year seeking to make that final stride to the top.

*

Premiership

Andy Wise’s Old Boys missed out this week and dropped to 3rd as Keith Swallows Donkeys move to the top with 3 points at Liverpool. They are closely followed by Matt Dadswell’s Super Spurs are also on 15 points thanks to correct predictions at both Birmingham and Chelsea on Sunday and go top of the Manager of the Month League for February with Tom Cousins Red Devils with 3 points at Birmingham and Liverpool.

Other 3 pointers included Sean bakers Catch me if you can at Birmingham, Simon James Crawley Blues also at Birmingham, Viking & Hove Albion and Brazilian Wonder both for the Chelsea result whilst James Taylors Brasilia and Seoul Albion collected 3 points at Liverpool. Stuart Baker’s Bergkamps Babes sit bottom joined by Neil Hastings Hopefuls.

Championship

Mags Bakers Marvals move to the top of the Championship and Manager of the Month League with 3 points at Birmingham joined by Ollie Beaumont’s Monopoly who gained 3 points at both Chelsea and Liverpool. Martin & Hove Albion move 3rd with 3 points at Liverpool. Gavin Moor’s G Force collected 6 points for correct predictions at both Birmingham and Liverpool.

Other 3 pointers included Mick the Dog at Birmingham, David Maynes Casualties and Bob Bakers Genius at Liverpool whilst 3 correct results gained Tim james 3 points this week end.Bergkamps Reserves remain bottom of the League with Mick the Dog (still under Assistant Managership) 2nd to bottom.

League One

Gavin Cloads Cloady Boys moved to the top of League One with 3 points at both Chelsea and Liverpool this week end. James Jefferies Bimbo’s are 2nd with 3 points at Chelsea with reg Holfords Man United in 3rd place.

Other 3 pointers included my own Titherhampton Wanderers at Liverpool (at last!) whilst there were 3 correct results for both John Taylor’s Seagull Collective and Kevin Lewis’ Tractor Boys. At the bottom Wayne Bumsteads Gills follow his teams results by moving steadily downwards matched only by a weak Arsenal Supreme under the management guise of Pat ‘Arsen’ Murphy following his teams results over the past two weeks.

League Two

Michal Stanislawski’s Polish Blues go top again of League Two with 3 points at Liverpool and correct results at Chelsea and Birmingham. Michael Beaumont’s Bombers are looking for a swift return to League One with 3 points at Birmingham and moving into 2nd  Mick Voyce’s Wingless Wonders are 3rd. Young Marc Bakers Little Monkey’s have really improved (for some reason ??) with 3 points at Chelsea.

At the bottom of the pile Dave Fricker continues to sit on the fence with his 1-1 predictions but could shortly fall off as he moves 2nd bottom only held up by Joe Beadsley’s Bearded Wonders.

More matches during the week  with the F A Cup next week end.

31st Jan 2010

Hello again

The final 3 matches for the month saw Everton win 1-0 at Wigan on Saturday whilst the matches on Sunday saw Manchester City predictably beat Portsmouth 2-0 whilst Man United had a crucial win over Arsenal 3-1.

Premiership

Business as usual in the Premiership as 3 points at Arsenal and Manchester City saw Andy Wise move top of the Premiership and continue from last years glorious season by taking the Manager of the Month for January. Keith Swallows Donkeys continue to press at the top with 3 points at Wigan to stay 2nd. Championship Runners up from last year Stevie James remains consistent with 3 correct results and is 3rd. Other 3 pointers included Tithers United with 3 correct results, Mags Bakers Barmy Army, James Taylors Brasilia and Hove Albion and Simon James Crawley Blues all with 3 points at Man City.

At the bottom Neil Hastings Hopefuls has started badly as has Stuart Adams Viking & Hove Albion both in the bottom 2.

Championship

Dave Hardings 3 points at Man City took his Grand Masters to the top of the Championship and the Manager of the Month title as well. Andy Skinners Skinny United also collected 3 points at Man City to go 2nd. Other 3 pointers included Martin & Hove Albion, Stuart Walkers G7 at Man City and Tim James’ Timmos at Wigan. Ollie Beaumont picked up 3 points at Wigan and correct results at the other 2 matches to move out of the bottom two.

At the bottom David Maynes Icklesham Casualties drop into the bottom two whilst Managerless Mick the Dog’s team continues to struggle without him.

League 1

United Little Boys collect the Manager of the Month Award for League One with 3 points at both Arsenal and Man City. Reg Holford’s Man United also collected 3 points at Man City and Wigan to go 2nd. Other 3 pointers (all at Man City) included Gareth Olivers Army, John Taylors Seagull Collective and Gavin Cloads Cloady Boys. There were also 3 points for correct results across the board for Wayne Bumsteads Gills and my own Titherhampton Wanderers.

At the bottom Kevin Lewis’ Tractor Boys continue to struggle along with James Jeffery’s Bimbos both in the bottom 2.

League 2

Gary Wellers Grillers 3 points at Man City and Wigan move his team to the top of League 2 and gain him the Manager of the Month Award for January. Mick Voyce’s Wingless Wonders are 2nd with 3 points at Wigan. There were 3 points for Alfy Weller’s Wanderers also at Man City whilst Lee Sinden begins to find some form with 3 points at Arsenal and two other correct results.

A turn around for Michal Stanislawski’s as he managed to at last vanquish those Polish Blues with 3 points at both Portsmouth and Spurs to go top of League Two. Dave Frickers 3 points at Portsmouth at last see’s his Hornets fight back into 2nd spot in League Two with Michelle Bakers Carefree Champions again looking for promotion also with 3 points at Portsmouth. Alfy Weller’s Wanderers curiously managed 3 points for the Aston Villa Arsenal result this week?

Bill Beaumont is left holding the baby (up) by remaining bottom one place below a very young team in the form of Marc Baker’s Little Monkeys.

A final reminder for your February predictions please

Steve

28th Jan 2010

And a mid week hello from me

3 matches during the week following last week ends F A Cup exploits. On Tuesday we had Portsmouth and West Ham drawing 1-1 with Spurs predictably beating Fulham 2-0 then yesterday evening a less likely prediction saw Aston Villa draw 0-0 with Arsenal

Premiership

Newly promoted Stevie James sailed to the top of the Premiership with correct predictions at both Portsmouth and Spurs. Champions Andy Wise’s Old Boys and runners up Keith Swallows Donkey Sanctuary stay in touch with the same predictions moving into 2nd and 3rd respectively. Other 3 pointers included Matt Dadswells Super Spurs at Portsmouth, Sean Bakers Catch me if you can and Val Newmans Brazilian Wonder at Spurs.

This leaves James Taylor’s Brasilia and Seoul Albion and Ken Tytherleigh’s Tithers United propping up the bottom places with 0 points yet scored this month.

Championship

Robert Walpole’s Fulham for 50 years continues at the top of the Championship with another 3 points at Spurs where he predicted his own Fulham would lose 2-0. Mags Bakers Marvals continue where they left off last year with correct results at both Portsmouth and Spurs to move 2nd. Bob Bakers Genius is 3rd with 3 points at Spurs whilst relegated Trevor Saunders Focus, Gavin Moor’s G Force, Andy Skinners Skinny United and newly promoted Stuart Walker all collected 3 points at Spurs.

At the bottom Ollie Beaumont’s Monopoly are struggling with 1 point whilst Mick the Dog (under Asst Management) prop up the League with 0 points yet this year.

League 1

Cup holders United Little Boys made up for the disappointment of their cup exit last week by collecting 6 points at both Portsmouth and Spurs and going top of League 1. Gavin Cloads Cloady Boys 3 points at Spurs keeps his team 2ndwhilst League 2 Runner up last year Richard Forrests Real Murcia achieved 3 points at Portsmouth to move 3rd. Other 3 pointers included League 2 Champions Reg Holfords Man United having a good week with the correct result at Portsmouth, as did John Taylors Seagull Collective following his dismal display in the cup last week! Gareth Olivers Army followed up the disappointment of a cup exit last week with 3 points at Spurs, which even my own Titherhampton Wanderers predicted (at last!).

At the bottom Jimbo’s Bimbo’s are going well in the cup but struggling for League form along with Kevin Lewis’ Tractor Boys who are struggling in everything.

League 2

A turn around for Michal Stanislawski’s as he managed to at last vanquish those Polish Blues with 3 points at both Portsmouth and Spurs to go top of League Two. Dave Frickers 3 points at Portsmouth at last see’s his Hornets fight back into 2nd spot in League Two with Michelle Bakers Carefree Champions again looking for promotion also with 3 points at Portsmouth. Alfy Weller’s Wanderers curiously managed 3 points for the Aston Villa Arsenal result this week?

At the bottom Marc Baker’s Little Monkeys still struggling to get on his feet as is Bill Beaumont’s Bombers now the strongest side in the Leagues – holding the rest of us up.

Final January matches this week end – Don’t forget your February Predictions needed next week!!

Steve

17th Jan 2010

Hello

And at last there were some matches in the Premiership that had an Impact on the new Predictor Leagues. On Saturday we had the surprise of seeing Everton beat Man City 2-0 whilst Spurs and Hull drew 0-0 thanks to the heroics of Hull keeper Mayhill. On Sunday another surprise to see Blackburn beat Fulham 2-0. The matches postponed from last week will be re-arranged and your scores will count for them during the month they are replayed.

Manager of the Month

Our picture shows a delighted Andy Wise collecting his first Manager of the Month Award (ever!) from son Peter. His delight was later turned into ecstatic euphoria after completing the Premiership Title for the first time. Andy was last seen touring East Grinstead Town Centre with flags out of his car singing ‘we are the champions’.

Premiership

Andy Wise’s Old Boys started 2010 well but only just being one of only 5 teams to manage a point over the week end the others included Tom Cousins Red Devils, Matt Dadswells Super Spurs, Sean Bakers Catch me if you can and newly promoted Stevie James’ Wonders back in the Premiership for the first time since 2006.

Championship

Robert Walpoe’s Fulham for 50 years followed up the Manager of the Month Award for December with 3 points at Everton to start 2010 in style. Dave Hardings Grand Masters also predicted a 2-0 result this time for Blackburn against Fulham.

There were a few other points floating around for both Bob Bakers Genius, Martin & Hove Albion and one each for newly promoted Maggies’ Marvals and Stuart Walkers G7

League 1

Jez Scotts disappointment at not getting promotion from League one bounced back into play with 3 points at Blackburn to start 2010 off with promotion back in mind.

There was a point each for relegated Wayne Bumstead’s Gills, Gavin Cloads Cloady Boys and peter and Mathew Wise’s Little Boys.

League 2

Not much to shout about in League 2 with 7 out of the 10 teams off the mark with 1 point each.

It leaves 3 teams at the bottom with 0 points from this week end including relegated from League 1 Beaumont’s Bombers, Alfie Wellers Wanderers and last years rock bottom side the Polish Blues carrying on where they left off last year!

Don’t forget the urgency of the F A Cup Predictions this week as Round 3 gets underway next weekend and our draw will take place

29th December 2009

And through to a Happy New Year for some – but not for others

As the final promotion / relegation issues are sorted out over the Christmas period. Our first matches on Boxing Day saw Arsenal comfortably beat Aston Villa 3-0 whist Fulham and Spurs were fighting out a goal less 0-0 draw at Craven Cottage. On Monday we saw Fulham travel up the road to Chelsea only to come away with nothing in the 2-1 defeat. The final game of the Predictor League Season finished with Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Aston Villa Tuesday evening.

Premiership

Andy Wise’s Old Boys followed up the end to a perfect season by winning the Premiership Title for the first time in his 5 year history mostly thanks to his 2-1 prediction at Chelsea. Stuart Adams Viking & Hove Albion Managed 3rd Place whilst Keith Swallows Donkeys 3 points at Aston Villa on Tuesday saw them finish 3rd and with another Manager of the Month Title.

Three points for Sean Bakers Catch me If You Can secured a mid table place for this Gooner at Fulham on Saturday. Whilst the other one in the Premiership, Stuart Bakers Berkamps Babes, also collected 3 points at Villa.

At the bottom it was goodbye to the Premiership for Mick the Dog and, for one season only, Trevor Saunders Focus.

Championship

Simon James Crawley Blues broke all records winning the Championship in style by correctly predicting that his Chelsea would beat Fulham 2-1 on Bank Holiday Monday. Another member of the James family won the scramble for 2nd place as they both return to the Premiership with Stevie Wonders’ 3 points at Villa securing 2nd place and promotion just beating Gavin Moor’s G Force on goal difference who also predicted the 1-0 win at Villa for his Liverpool side.

At the bottom Stuart Bakers Bergkamps Reserves managed 3 points at Villa to ensure another season in the Championship but its goodbye from Wayne Bumstead as his Gills drop back to League One. And its goodbye from me as well! As a double relegation blow for my Titherhampton Wanderers see’s me join Wayne in League One next year.

League 1

Maggies Marvals won the League One title and the Manageress of the Month  to move up to the Championship along with 2nd place Stuart Walkers G7 whose 3 points for his Chelsea on Monday secured another promotion - that’s what comes from having the best seat in the League!

Dave Frickers Hornets 1-1 prediction has left him with a sting in his tail as they are relegated again down to League Two with a record low points and obtaining the coveted Wooden Spoon for the worst record in any of the Leagues this Season! The Hornets are being joined by Bill Beaumont’s Bombers who know’s how to hit all the low points by dropping to yet another level of lowliness.

League 2

Reg Holford’s Man United claimed the Title this Christmas with 3 points at Chelsea to lead his team into League One after his best Season for or some years. Reg is joined in League One by Charlton Supporter Richard Forrest as his Real Murcia emulate his own Charlton at the top of the League and also claims his first Manager of The Month Award just piping a rejuvenated Marc Baker to the monthly title.

The battle for bottom spot in the Predictor Leagues went right to the wire as first Marc Baker managed 3 points at Arsenal on Saturday, then Lee Sinden with 3 points on Monday saw bottom spot change 3 times to leave egg on the face on the final match going to Michal Stanislawski’s Polish Blues who moves to the bottom of the pile and take the coveted title of Chump of the Season – Never mind Michal you can redeem yourself in 2010!

Happy New Year to you all. Look out for the F A Cup predictions for this weekend with 32 games in the 3rd Round – have you checked who you are up against? The new Season starts the following week with 3 matches for our Predictor Leagues at Burnley, Sunderland and West Ham.

Steve

20th December 2009

A Happy Christmas to you all,

As we mix the mid week matches up with this week ends results it leaves 4 remaining fixtures to conclude the ups and downs in the Leagues at the mid point of the Season. On Wednesday our 2 matches included Spurs 3-0 win against Man City as well as Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Wigan. This week end saw Portsmouth surprising win against Liverpool (2-0) and finally Chelsea and West Ham drawing 1-1 on Sunday.

Premiership

Stuart Adams Viking & Hove Albion cling on to top spot despite just 2 points from the 4 games this week. One point behind is Andy Wise’s Old Boys whilst 1-point further back is Keith Swallows Donkeys. There were 3 points for Mags Bakers Barmy Army at West Ham moving her team up to 9th.

Tom Cousin’s Red Devils managed 3 points from all four matches to move up to fourth although it looks like this years Champion will come from the top 3.

At the bottom Trevor Saunders Focus looks to be returning to the Championship after only 1 season in the Premiership whilst Mick The Dog will probably join them.

Championship

Simon James Crawley Blues will be enjoying the sunshine on holiday this Christmas despite not too many points this week his team remain 10 points clear of the rest and looking to return to the Premiership next year. Martin & Hove Albion’s team move into the other promotion spot but it could be any team from ten as only 4 points separates all these teams. They include Bob Baker’s Genius with 3 points at Liverpool to move up to 5th. Robert Walpole’s Fulham for 50 years has also had a good week with 5 points including 3 at West Ham to move up to 10th and could still gain that other promotion spot.

At the bottom my own Titherhampton Wanderers managed 3 points at Liverpool on Wednesday but doesn’t look enough to stop the ‘double’ drop.

League 1

Maggies Marvals are still top of League 1 with another 3 points at Liverpool on Wednesday with Jimbo’s Bimbo’s remaining in 2nd spot just 1 point ahead of Jez Scott’s Inter Real Seagulls.

A useful 3 points for Pat ‘Arsen’ Murphy at Liverpool on Wednesday saw his team leap out of the bottom two to be replaced by Bill Beaumont’s Bombers looking to drop another one (League that is!) along with Dave Frickers Hornets who’s 3 points at West Ham on Sunday helped – but not much!

League 2

Reg Holford’s Man United are nearly there at the top of League 2 only a last minute surge from Real Murcia’s Richard Forrest, who gained another 3 points at Liverpool on Wednesday, would cause any worries for the League Title.

Marc Bakers Little Monkey’s remain bottom but Lee Sinden’s Wanderers 3 points for the week may lift his team out of the bottom two in time for next years predictions.

Last matches for all the ups and downs on Boxing day and the Bank Holiday Monday next week so Aston Villa v Liverpool and Chelsea v Fulham could have a significant impact for some!

Steve

13th December 2009

Hello,

Another 2 matches this weekend saw Hull and Blackburn produce a predictable (for a few) 0-0 draw on Saturday whilst on Sunday Arsenal came from a goal down to win 2-1 at Liverpool.

*

Manager of the Month - League 1

Kevin Lewis celebrated his Birthday in style this week by collecting his first Manager of the Month Award for some years for his Southern Tractor Boys. In fact if he had as many birthdays as he has won the Manager of the Month Award he would be a lot younger than he is today!

Premiership

Just 1 point separates the top 3 in the Premiership with Andy Wise’s Old Boys just one place ahead of Stuart Adams Viking & Hove Albion whilst Keith Swallows Donkeys remain third. There were 4 points in total for a rejuvenated Brasilia and Hove Albion as our far eastern correspondent James Taylor’s Brasilia and Seoul Albion picked up 3 of them at Hull and move up to 8th and away from the relegation places.

At the bottom Mick the Dog looks doomed to relegation with no further points this week and a sad looking Trevor Saunders Focus in hot pursuit.

Championship

Simon James Crawley Blues should achieve promotion without any problems as the rest of the league appear to be losing the plot with only few points around this week.

Just last months Manager of the Month David Mayne’s Icklesham Casualties managed a point at Hull whilst Dave Hardings Gilbert’s Grand Masters also managed another point at Hull whilst Bob Bakers Genius managed a point at Liverpool.

Wayne Bumstead’s point at Hull moves his Gill’s just 1 point from safety whilst my own Titherhampton Wanderers look deeper into the abyss of the drop zone.

League 1

Maggies Marvals remain top of the League despite no points this week end but a point for James Jefferies at Hull keeps his Bimbo’s in the promotion spot.

At the bottom only Pat ‘Arsen’ Murphy’s Arsenal Supreme and Dave Frickers Hornets managed a point each at Liverpool and Hull respectively however they both remain in the bottom 2 this week end.

League 2

Reg Holford’s Man United continue at the top of League 2 4 points ahead of Michelle Bakers Carefree Champions. Richard Forrest’s Real Murcia move up to 5th with 3 points at Liverpool.

A surprise at the bottom this week as Marc Bakers Little Monkee’s gained 3 points at Liverpool but still remain bottom now only 4 points adrift.

More matches next week and  F A Cup 3rd Round draw soon

Steve

6th December 2009

Hello again,

Just 2 matches this weekend kicked off the December fixtures with Chelsea’s 1-2 defeat at Man City whilst Birmingham won 3-2 win at Wigan.

Premiership

Stuart Adams Viking & Hove Albion Continue at the top of the League with 3 points at Man City followed closely by Keith Swallows Donkeys also with the 3 points. Last Month’s surprise Manager of the Month, Andy Wise, managed a point at Wigan whilst Tom Cousins 1 point at Man City keeps him in touch with the top of the League.

Mick the Dog and Trevor Saunders Focus seem doomed to relegation as Ken Tytherleigh’s Tithers United 3 points at Man City moved them away from the drop zone at the end of this month.

Championship

Simon James stays top of the Championship with few points being gained by anyone there this week end. Andy Skinner remains 2nd although Dave Hardings Gilbert’s Grand Masters 3 points at Man City keeps his side in touch at the top. The only other point was scored by Martin & Hove Albion at Wigan.

At the bottom it’s still my own Titherhampton Wanderers and Wayne Bumstead’s Gills that remain in the relegation places with our usual consistency coming into play with another 0 points this week end.

League 1

Even fewer points in League one apart from at the top as Maggies Marvals 3 at Man City may should promotion at the end of the month.

The rest of the league failed to gain any points this week so it remains the same at the bottom as well as the top.

This leaves Dave Frickers Hornets 5 points Pat ‘Arsen’ Murphy.

League 2

Reg Holford’s Man United remain top of League 2 with only the Gary Wellers Grillers and Alfy Wellers Wanderers each getting a point at Man City.

At the bottom Marc Baker Little Monkey’s stay bottom with Lee Sinden’s Wanderers still struggling not far behind.

More matches next week hopefully with some pictures.

Steve

29th November 2009

Another end of Month hello from me,

Four matches this week end helped us sort the men out from the boys and girls for this month with our first game on Saturday seeing Wigan come back from the 9-1 thrashing at Spurs last week end to beat Sunderland 1-0. On Sunday we had the three big derby games stating in Birmingham where Birmingham won away at Wolves 1-0 later Liverpool beat Everton at Goodison Park 2-0 whilst the final derby match saw Chelsea win comfortably at Arsenal 3-0.

Premiership

Stuart Adams Viking & Hove Albion have been pushed off the top spot after their brief spell there replaced by what must be a jubilant Andy Wise as his Old Boys not only gain top spot but the ‘triple’ 3 pointers at Everton, Wigan and Wolves has seen him become Manager of the Month for the very first time in his nearly illustrious career! There were quite a few 3 pointers in the Premiership this week end including 3 at both Everton and Wolves for Keith Swallows Donkeys to move them up to 3rd. There were also 3 pointers for both Neil Hastings Hopefuls at Wolves and Tom Cousins Red Devils at Wigan keeping these two in 8th and 5th respectively.

Ken Tytherleigh’s Tithers United 3 points at Wigan leaves Trevor Saunders Focus in the bottom 2 despite 3 points for his own Liverpool at Everton. Mick the Dog remains 4 points adrift at the bottom.

Championship

Simon James continues to break all the records with 3 points at Wigan to leave his Crawley Blues 12 points ahead of 2nd place Andy Skinner’s United. 3 points for last Months Manager of the Month Stevie James see’s his Wonders climb to 4th with Martin & Hove Albion 3rd all on 31 points with Andy Skinner. David Maynes continuous improvement see’s his Casualties rise to 6th and the 3 points at Wigan gives him his first Manager of the Month for 2 years (last one in November 2007!). 3 points for Ollie Beaumont’s Monopoly at Everton leaves them in a respectable 9th.

The interest in the Championship begins to Wane from my own Titherhampton Wanderers as they return to the bottom thanks to 3 points at Wigan for another Wayne – Bumsteads Gills. Although he still remains in the bottom two.

League 1

With very few points for the top teams in League 1 Mags Bakers Marvals return to the top on goal difference from Jez Scotts Inter Real Seagulls and James Jefferies Bimbo’s who managed all 4 correct results this week. Just 3 points behind this group comes Kevin Lewis as his own Ipswich Town manage a win at last at Cardiff his Southern Tractor Boys pick up 3 points at Everton and get him the Manager of the Month Award for November. John Taylor’s Seagull Collective collected 3 points at Wolves to keep them firmly in the middle of the League.

Dave Frickers Hornets are still 5 points behind fellow strugglers Pat ‘Arsen’ Murphy who will have to face the music for the 3-0 defeat inflicted on his Arsenal this week end still at least they are not facing relegation – unlike Pat.

League 2

Reg Holford’s Man United finish November at the top of the League with 1 month remaining but 3 points for Michelle Bakers Carefree Champions at Wigan closes the gap to 4 points as they stay second but more importantly wins her a second back to back Manageress of the Month Award. In third place Gary Wellers Grillers picked up 3 points at Wigan whilst Richard Forrest’s Real Murcia also collected 3 points at Wigan to remain 5th.

At the bottom Marc Baker remains on 20 points with Lee Sinden’s Wanderers 4 points higher on 24.

December Predictions to follow later in the week.

Steve

22nd November

And it’s a huge HELLO from me again,

With another three matches this week end we had some interesting score lines. Fortunately Spurs v Wigan was not one of our matches this week. Our first matches on Saturday saw Blackburn win 2-0 at Bolton whilst Hull were drawing 3-3 at home to West Ham. On Sunday Stoke beat Portsmouth 1-0 to complete the weekends Predictors scores.

Manager of the Month – Premiership, League 1 and League 2

Tom Cousins receives a rather seasonal looking hamper specially made up for his Manager of the Month Award by Mrs E Tytherleigh seen here presenting the prize. The second and 3rd pictures show Sean Baker, of Catch me if you can, presenting other members of the family with their Manageress of the Month Awards – for both Michelle and Mags respectively. As Sean says himself results have gone downhill this Season and this was the only chance he had of getting in a photograph this year!

Premiership

Stuart Adams Viking & Hove Albion moved 4 points clear at the top of the Premiership this week end with 3 points at Stoke. Matt Dadswells Super Spurs did just that this week end as well as 9 for his team against Wigan he bagged 3 points himself at Stoke to consolidate his mid table mediocrity.

Trevor Saunders Focus continues to struggle along with Mick the Dog with 3 pointers difficult to find for either team as they both remain in the bottom 2.

Championship

Simon James record breaking Crawley Blues stay top of the Championship with yet another 3 points on Sunday this time at Stoke. This leaves the Crawley Blues 9 points clear of second place Andy Skinner in the other promotion spot. 3 points for a rejuvenated Icklesham Casualties at Stoke has moved David Maynes team well clear of the drop zone back into mid table and leading the Manager of the Month bid for November.

At the bottom my own Titherhapton Wanderers remain perilously close to the second relegation this year keeping good company with a rather dismal Wayne Bumstead’s Gills now the strongest side in the League as he holds the rest of us up.

League 1

At the top of League 1 it’s becoming a 3 way battle for promotion as last months Manageress of the Month, Mags Baker, sees her Marvals second just behind Stuart Walker’s G7. Jez Scott’s Inter Real Seagulls move up to third with 3 points at Stoke and join the other two on 31 points.

Three points at Stoke  for last years F A Cup runners up Gavin Cload’s Cloady Boys moves them up to 7th and leading the Manager of The Month table.

Dave Frickers Hornets are gradually closing the gap at the bottom with another draw in our Predictors leaving him just 5 points behind Gareth Olivers Army and a struggling Pat ‘Arsen’ Murphy’s Arsenal Supreme.

League 2

Reg Holford’s beginning to get excited already as his Man United remain clear at the top of League 2 now 7 points clear of last month’s Manageress of the Month Michelle Baker’s Carefree Champions. Mick Voyce’s resurgence sees another 3 points for his Wingless Wonders this time at Stoke to move the Wingless one up to third. Joe Beardsley’s Bearded Wonders can be compared to a blue moon as they currently sit in the Manager of the Month position, which is obviously a unique occurrence.

At the bottom Marc Baker can blame his mother for the results that sees his side bottom of the pile – after all what sort of a mother would allow such a thing? Dad Sean suggests he gets better guidance from his father – so next season will see.

Steve

8th November 2009

Hello again from the Predictor Leagues,

*

Three matches this week end kicked off Novembers predictions with Man City drawing 3-3 with Burnley on Saturday followed by West Hams home defeat against Everton Sunday (1-2) and finally the 1-0 win for Chelsea against Man Utd that puts them top of the League

Manager of the Month – League 1

A delighted James Jeffereys is pleased as punch to receive his Manager of the Month prize from me for September but stresses that its promotion is what really matters!

Premiership

Septembers Manager of the Month, Tom Cousens, continues to pick up points with 3 for his Chesea prediction and moves into the top 5 along with Sean Bakers Catch me if you can also with the same 3 points and just 1 place behind the Red Devils. Neil Hastings Hopefuls collected 3 points at West Ham to secure a mid table position again as did Mags Bakers Barmy Army with 3 points at the same match. Shock of the week end though see’s Viking & Hove Albions Stuart Adams leap frog Val Newmans Brazilian Wonder and Keith Swallows Donkeys to go top with 3 points at Chelsea.

At the other end 3 points for Ken Tytherleigh’s United at West Ham moves them away from bottom 2 Trevor Saunders Focus and Mick The Dog.

Championship

Simon James Crawley Blues stays top of the Championship with another 3 points at his own Chelsea to hold all the Leagues record on 36 points. Andy Skinners Skinny United stay 2nd but 3 points at West Ham see Gavin Moors G Force move into 3rd followed closely by a re-juvinated (again) Bob Baker who managed 3 points at both Chelsea and West Ham this week end. Tim James also grabbed 3 points at Chelsea as another Chelsea supporter correctly predicted that result (some concerns about match fixing have been raised on this result but the results all stand at present!)

At the bottom David Maynes Casualties climb well clear of the bottom two with 3 points at Chelsea and West ham on Sunday leaving a rather weak looking Wayne Bumstead in one of the relegation spots only above yours truly on age.

League 1

With virtually no points gained in League 1 this week end Mags Bakers Marvals remain top on 31 followed by Stuart Walkers G7 1 point further back.

This really is a dull League this year as Dave Fricker’s point at Man City is all there is to shout about. He still remains bottom just behind an equally woeful performance from Pat Arsen Murphy’s Arsenal Supreme.

League 2

Gary Wellers Grillers 3 points at West Ham moves them up to 3rd just behind Michelle Bakers Carefree Champions and top of the Tree Reg Holfords Man United. Joe Beardsley also managed 3 points at West Ham looking comfortable in mid table. At the bottom Marc Baker has age as an excuse for not getting above lowly Lee Sinden as his Wanderers also fail to impress.

More matches next week
